FIFA has imposed a one-year transfer ban on football club Hapoel Haifa following the Ofek Biton case, who moved from Ukrainian club Polissya Zhytomyr to the Carmel-based team. In addition, the club was ordered to pay the Ukrainian club compensation of 350,000 euros. The club is already preparing for a legal battle in an attempt to overturn the decision and intends to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. At the center of the case is Polissya's claim that Hapoel Haifa was involved in inducing Biton to breach his contract so he could move to Israel.
