Israir will open ticket sales tonight for its new route to New York, with the first flight from Tel Aviv expected to take off as early as Sept. 15 – in about a week. This marks the airline's first entry into regular operations on a U.S. route, using two wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft it purchased and prepared in recent months. The first flight from New York to Israel is scheduled for Sept. 17. The company notes that the aircraft will be phased into service gradually as part of the process of entering operations with its new wide-body fleet.
