UNIFIL: 'Over 225 Weapons Caches Found in Southern Lebanon'

|
UNIFIL announced that its forces continue to operate 'around the clock' to monitor and report violations of UN Resolution 1701 in southern Lebanon. The force reported coordinating operations with the Lebanese army, with some activities conducted in collaboration. According to the announcement, the Lebanese army, with UNIFIL's assistance, has deployed at more than 120 permanent positions south of the Litani, while the Israeli forces' presence in Lebanese territory 'still impedes the army's full deployment.' The report also stated that UNIFIL personnel discovered more than 225 weapons caches and transferred them to the Lebanese army.
