Over the next three days, temperatures will continue to rise with the heat wave peak expected on Wednesday, reaching 40-41 degrees Celsius in Jerusalem, Upper Galilee and Golan Heights, 48-49 degrees in the Sea of Galilee area and Beit Shean Valley, and about 50 degrees in the Jordan Valley, according to Meteorological Service Director Dr. Amir Givati. The coastal plain will continue to experience extreme heat stress due to high humidity originating from the Mediterranean Sea. On Saturday, this prolonged and rare heat wave will end, with temperatures returning to average values for August.
