Netanyahu's associates approached Rabbi Tau, linked to 'Noam,' to prevent party from running – and were refused

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been pressuring small parties in recent days that could 'waste votes' for the coalition bloc, aiming to bring about their withdrawal. As part of the pressure, Netanyahu's office has attempted in recent days to arrange a meeting with Rabbi Tau, president of Yeshivat Har Hamor and spiritual patron of MK Avi Maoz's 'Noam' party. Netanyahu and his associates are working to prevent Noam from running in the elections, with estimates placing the party's support at several thousand votes, up to half a mandate. Sources close to Rabbi Tau stated that 'Netanyahu tried to reach out to the rabbi, but was told that if the purpose of the meeting is to bring about the withdrawal of the Noam Party for Israel from the race, this is not on the table.'
