Senior Foreign Ministry official visits Turkey ahead of Herzog trip

The Director General of the Foreign Ministry Alon Ushpiz traveled to Turkey in secret last month, to prepare for the upcoming visit there by President Issac Herzog, which is scheduled for March.
Herzog was invited by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last month.
Ushpiz is the highest ranking Israeli official to visit Turkey in six years.
The Foreign Ministry had no comment on the recent trip.
