Opposition parties petition High Court to block Shin Bet chief’s dismissal

Opposition parties Yesh Atid, National Unity, Yisrael Beitenu and the Democrats filed a petition with the High Court of Justice on Friday seeking an injunction to halt the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar.
The petition claims the decision was made under a "severe conflict of interest" by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and was based on “ulterior motives” tied to Shin Bet investigations involving the Prime Minister’s Office.
It also cites the agency’s recent report assigning responsibility for the October 7 attacks to the political leadership.
