The Knesset has convened on Tuesday, to vote for the instalment of a temporary speaker from the right-wing and religious coalition.
The vote comes as Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party has not decided on who among its members will hold the position for the duration of the term.
The appointment of a speaker is necessary for the incoming coalition to pass laws that would enable twice convicted for corruption - Shas leader Aryeh Deri to assume a ministerial position and extend the authority of designated public security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
