Police thwart botulinum toxin smuggling suspected from Iran

The Israel Police announced on Sunday it had intercepted two smuggling attempts at the Allenby Bridge border crossing over the weekend, seizing unapproved medications and a rare biological agent.
In a joint operation with customs officials and military checkpoint personnel, police arrested two brothers suspected of smuggling 8,136 unregulated pharmaceutical capsules lacking the Health Ministry's approval. Separately, a woman from Jenin was detained for allegedly smuggling 52 vials of botulinum toxin, a potent neurotoxin suspected of originating from Iran.
