Starting in the beginning of March, Israel will transition to a "special state of health" instead of the state of emergency that gave the government and the Ministry of Health extensive powers to impose severe restrictions on the public.
In a telephone poll held this morning, government ministers approved the implementation of the move, which states that all the new regulations, restrictions and measures will go through the Knesset's Constitution committee, which can change and even repeal some of them.
The extensive legal infrastructure provided to the government during the state of emergency, under which the restrictions would take effect and only then be approved, reduced or repealed by the Constitution committee, is no longer valid under the "special health condition".
