The United Nations has expressed concern that "war crimes" have been and are still being committed within the framework of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. "We are concerned about the fact that war crimes are being committed. We are concerned about the collective punishment imposed on the residents of Gaza in response to the horrific attack by Hamas - which also constitutes a war crime," said Rabina Shamdasani, spokeswoman for the UN Human Rights Commission.
