Before the start of the summer recess, the government approved the establishment of an inter-ministerial committee to build a plan to aid in the absorption of the Bnei Maneshe community, which was caught up in a civil war between the local Meitei and Kuki tribes in northeastern India. According to Minister of Immigration and Absorption Ofir Sofer, who initiated the establishment of the committee, the program is expected to help the absorption of the Bnei Menashe in Israel within four months.
