An Israeli was national killed in an avalanche that struck near the Villars ski resort in the French Alps, French authorities reported Friday. The Foreign Ministry confirmed an Israeli citizen was injured in the incident but said the death has not yet been officially confirmed.
The avalanche occurred outside the ski resort’s designated area, according to local officials. “The Israeli Embassy in Paris and the Department for Israelis Abroad are handling the skiing accident in France involving Israelis. The embassy and department are in contact with local authorities to assist those involved," The ministry said in a statement.
