Russian envoy to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, said on Sunday that Russia was waiting for "appropriate signals" from Washington on contacts with Moscow, the state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported. Russia is ready for talks with the United States on Ukraine "on an equal basis" provided its interests are taken into account, Nebenzya, who serves as Russia's permanent representative to the UN, said.
