4-year-old Israeli boy drowns in hotel pool during family vacation in Mexico

Shalom Seginer, grandson of Breslov Rabbi Shalom Arush, died in San José del Cabo; ZAKA and Israel’s embassy are assisting with arrangements to return his body for burial

A 4-year-old boy from Jerusalem drowned on Saturday in a hotel pool in the Mexican city of San José del Cabo while vacationing with his family.
The child, Shalom Seginer, was the grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, one of the senior rabbis of the Breslov Hasidic movement in Israel and head of the “Chut Shel Chesed” institutions for people returning to religious observance.

According to ZAKA’s international unit, the boy fell into the pool while staying with his family at the hotel.
After receiving the report, ZAKA began working with Mexican authorities and relevant officials to assist the family and help coordinate the necessary procedures.
Mexican authorities requested an autopsy, but the procedure was not carried out and the child’s body was released. ZAKA said it is continuing to assist the family and working to complete the required arrangements to bring the body to Israel as soon as possible for burial.
Israel’s embassy in Mexico is also assisting with arrangements for the child’s return to Israel.
