IDF soldiers thwarted the smuggling of drugs worth approximately 16 million shekels at the Egyptian border, the IDF spokesman said Wednesday evening. Israeli military surveillance on Tuesday identified several suspects trying to smuggle drugs from Egypt to Israel in the Mount Harif area of the Negev desert. Soldiers from the Cheetah Battalion operating in the area thwarted the smuggling attempt and seized over 400 kg of drugs worth approximately 16 million shekels. The seized drugs were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing. (Ynet)
