Egyptian officials said al-Sisi's government warned Israel of military actions along the Gaza border with Egypt, in a ground offensive there, according to a report in the UK based Arabic language Al-Araby Al-Jadeed. The report said Egypt sees Israeli fire at an Egyptian observation post there last week – which Israel apologized for – was to provoke Cairo's disruptions on the Rafah border which would result in the need to confront Palestinian anger.
