Former IDF chief Gadi Eizenkot said on Sunday Israel is shifting toward a bi-national state with the Palestinians, a move that poses danger to Zionism.
Speaking at a press conference of the new political alliance the National Unity party he also said that "a public official can't take a public role with an indictment", referring to a government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Israel is stuck in a political crisis and instability. So I have decided to not sit on the sidelines and join the political effort. We must strive to establish a government that will bring together all the population in Israel," Eizenkot added.
