Professor Eva Illouz will not receive the Israel Prize, the prize committee decided on Sunday. The decision came after Education Minister Yoav Kish informed the Israel Prize Committee that he would not award the prize to Professor Illouz since she had previously signed an appeal to The Hague against Israel. The committee did not reach unanimous agreement on another candidate and, therefore, the Israel Prize for Sociology will not be awarded this year.
