The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Thursday condemned the visit of coalition lawmakers to Temple Mount.
"Egypt condemns the arrival of members of the government and Knesset who arrived with settlers to the mosque compound as part of the provocative Flag March," the Egyptian ministry said.
"This is an irresponsible escalation that increases the tension already there. Egypt stresses the importance of maintaining the status quo in Jerusalem."
