In the shadow of the American strike on Iran, US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Starmer's office stated that "the leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East and reiterated the serious risk that Iran's nuclear program poses to international security, as well as the actions taken by the US yesterday to reduce the threat, and agreed that Tehran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons." It was also reported that the two leaders discussed "the need for Iran to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible and progress toward a sustainable agreement."
