Eyal Zamir, calling for an end to the war in Gaza while detailing immediate steps required as he defined them "to alleviate the dramatic humanitarian crisis." "This call is made first and foremost from a full commitment to returning all hostages and out of deep concern for the lives, safety and welfare of IDF soldiers in both regular service and reserves," he wrote. "This is also out of concern in view of the scale of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, the number of Palestinian residents killed, including thousands of children and infants, and the unprecedented destruction of life infrastructure in the Strip."
