Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara accuses Defense Minister Israel Katz of abusing his authority and obstructing legal proceedings in order to benefit his Likud party colleague, MK Tali Gottlieb, who is suspected of publishing the name of a senior Shin Bet official at the start of the Iron Swords war. The attorney general informed Gottlieb that she has decided to prosecute her, but without immunity clearance from the defense minister, the proceedings cannot continue. Baharav-Miara wrote to Katz: 'Your conduct raises serious concerns of abusing your authority in order to benefit your party colleague, and it apparently serves to obstruct a criminal proceeding. These matters are particularly grave given that as defense minister you are entrusted with the security interests of the state.'
