Israeli envoys abroad will begin voting tonight in the elections for the 26th Knesset. The first mission to vote will be in Wellington, New Zealand's capital, where staff will vote starting at 11 p.m. They will be followed by Israel's ambassador to Fiji, for the first time ever, and then Israel's embassy in Canberra, Australia's capital. Voting will conclude on Friday at 6 a.m. (Israel time) on the West Coast, at the missions in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In total, over 4,800 envoys and family members, diplomats and state emissaries, will vote at 99 missions and 101 polling stations. All ballots will be flown to Israel via diplomatic pouch and sent to the Knesset for counting as double envelopes.
