Again: Ireland national team players bow their heads during Israeli anthem

|
Just before the kickoff of the match between the Israeli and Irish national teams held in Serbia, the visiting team's players chose not to honor the playing of 'Hatikvah' and bowed their heads during the Israeli anthem. In the previous match between the teams, which took place in Debrecen, the Irish took a similar protest. Then they also refused to shake hands with the Israeli players, did not hold the traditional flag exchange ceremony and bowed their heads during the anthem, while some of the bench players stood with their backs to the field. Many in Ireland called to boycott this match as well, and the Irish chose to host it without an audience due to 'operational challenges' - however, the real reason is the large protest in the country against Israel.
