A regional diplomat briefed by Iran told Reuters that "Tehran insisted on its right to enrich uranium during talks with the U.S. It ruled out stopping uranium enrichment but said it is open to discussing the level of uranium enrichment and its purity, or a regional consortium." The diplomat added that "Iran believes the American representatives understood its position on enrichment and that the U.S. showed flexibility regarding its demands." He noted: "Tehran's missile capabilities were not discussed during the talks."
