A Hamas delegation is in Cairo to negotiate an end to the Gaza war and the formation of a committee to manage civil affairs in the enclave in post-war Gaza, in coordination with the Palestinian Authority (PA), according to Hamas politburo member Basem Naim.
“We are discussing all new proposals responsibly and positively, provided they are based on ending the war and the enemy’s withdrawal,” Naim said, referring to Israel’s military operation. The talks, reported by Qatar’s Al-Araby Al-Jadeed outlet, also explored potential entities to oversee Gaza’s civil administration that would not be affiliated with Hamas.
