Egypt rejects Gaza displacement plans, calls for immediate ceasefire

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty firmly rejected proposals to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, stressing the need for a political plan to establish an independent Palestinian state.
“We categorically reject any plan for displacement from Gaza and stress the urgency of finding a political horizon to solidify a sovereign Palestinian state,” Abdel-Atti said, according to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry. He reiterated support for the Arab-led reconstruction plan for Gaza, which has garnered international backing and called for an immediate ceasefire.
