Remand extension for sex pest rabbi in graft probe

|
Convicted sexual abuser Rabbi Eliezer Berland is remanded for a further five days as part of the corruption investigation into him and his Jerusalem yeshiva.
Berland is suspected of taking money from very sick followers while promising them miracle cures, which in some cases allegedly involved giving them Mentos candies and passing them off as medication.
The rabbi was arrested earlier this month along with his wife and six members of staff at the yeshiva. The charges against them include fraud, money-laundering and extortion.
