The IDF Spokesperson Unit reports that since the beginning of 2022 IDF soldiers, police troops, and additional security factions have thwarted 18 smuggling cases of some 300 illegal weapons, and 40 smuggling cases of some 2,150 kilograms of drugs equating to 135 million NIS, on the Jordanian and Egyptian borders.
These numbers are in comparison to those of years 2020 and 2021, in which a total of 21 smuggling cases of some 300 weapons were thwarted.
