Hours before the opening match of Euro 2024 between Germany and Scotland, a fan zone near the Reichstag in Berlin was evacuated due to suspicion of a suspicious object.
Local police detained an individual who left a backpack unattended and cleared the area of all present. Security forces were called to search for explosives, though it remained unclear if the fan accidentally left the bag behind.
