Iranian Quds Force chief urges Iraqi militias to avoid strikes on US, Israel, report says

Ismail Qaani, commander of Iran’s Quds Force, visited Baghdad recently and urged allied militias not to carry out attacks against U.S. and Israeli targets, Iran International, a Saudi-funded opposition media outlet, reported on Sunday. The message was also relayed to Yemen’s Houthis via Iraqi intermediaries, the report said.
In December, Iraqi lawmaker Yasser Watut confirmed that pro-Iranian militias in Iraq had paused operations against Israel.
