Senior Hamas leaders in Doha were asked to surrender their personal weapons as part of US-led efforts to reach a ceasefire with Israel and end the war in the Gaza Strip, the British Times newspaper reported. Among the leaders who were asked to lay down their weapons are Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas' negotiation team; Zaher Jabarin, the terror organization's finance official and holder of the "West Bank" portfolio; Muhammad Ismail Darwish, also known as "Abu Omar Hassan," who heads Hamas' Shura Council and its "political delegations" to countries such as Turkey and Iran.
