United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi.
The two discussed regional issues that are essential for strategic ties between the U.S. and Jordan and for regional stability.
In his report of the talks, Blinken said he emphasized the importance of maintaining the status quo in the holy cites of Jerusalem, and expressed his appreciation towards the Jordanians for their special role as guardians of the Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.
