IDF soldier killed by Hamas sniper in Gaza City

The IDF reported Thursday that Staff Sergeant Chalachew Shimon Demalash, aged 21, from Be'er Sheva, a soldier in the 932nd Battalion, Nahal Brigade, was killed by Hamas sniper fire in Gaza City.
Since the start of the war, 912 soldiers have been killed; 466 of them since the ground offensive in Gaza began.

Demalash was killed after being shot while on guard duty. He was critically wounded and later died of his injuries. IDF forces tried to locate the gunman who shot him but have not yet closed in on the attacker.
