Tel Aviv District Commander who promised to 'protect democracy' faces potential dismissal

|
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Police Commissioner Dani Levy are considering dismissing Tel Aviv District Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Sarogroff, after he declared last week in a letter to his subordinates that "we will continue to stand at the forefront of protecting the security of the state's residents, the rule of law and Israeli democracy." Ben Gvir and Levy plan to offer the Chief Superintendent the position of project coordinator in the Arab sector, claiming among other things that he is not implementing policies and "failing to reduce crime."
