A team led by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Steve Whitkoff and two other senior White House advisers have developed a draft plan for Gaza rehabilitation. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, which noted that the plan is detailed in 32 PowerPoint slides. According to the presentation, some slides of which were shown in the American newspaper, the plan called "Project Sunrise" will cost at least $112 billion over the first decade of the rehabilitation period, and includes luxury beachfront hotels, a high-speed railway and smart electricity networks utilizing AI. American officials who spoke with the newspaper expressed "serious doubts" about the feasibility of the plan, both due to Hamas's refusal to disarm and the reluctance of many countries to fund the reconstruction process as long as the possibility of renewed fighting remains.
