MK Gadi Eisenkot addressed the appointment of General David Zini as Shin Bet chief, stating that "the Prime Minister is jeopardizing the war's achievements, which were obtained at a very heavy price, by conducting a prolonged and unfocused campaign with outdated objectives." Eisenkot addressed General Zini, asserting: "At this time, you must act according to the values we absorbed and by which we commanded in the IDF for many years, and decline the Prime Minister's appointment request, due to the manner and timing in which it was executed, and under the lack of broad national consensus it creates due to the flawed process in which it was conducted."
