Israel's flag carrier airline El Al on Thursday named Dina Ben Tal Ganancia her first-ever female chief operating officer.
The 48-year-old has been working for the company for the last 14 years, having filled several different positions in that time, the latest of which was vice president of commercial and industry affairs.
Ben Tal Ganancia's snap appointment is intended to minimize the shock caused by the surprise retirement of current CEO Avigal Soreq.
