Five months after release, ex-hostage Alma Abraham leaves hospital

Alma Abraham, 84, was released Wednesday morning from Soroka Hospital after five months of treatment. Abraham was hospitalized in serious condition after she was released from Hamas captivity in the hostage deal in November. The director of the intensive care unit in Soroka, Dr. Moti Klein, told Alma at the moment of her discharge: "We did not find similar sources in the medical literature of people in a similar situation. We did not find an example of a person who went through something like this - both hunger and systematic abuse. We constantly think about what it means for those still in captivity."
