The UN Security Council will vote today on a resolution that will end UNIFIL activities, the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, on December 31, 2026 - after operating in the country for more than four decades. This was told to AP by two Security Council diplomats, who added that the United States, which demanded to end UNIFIL activities within a year, did not object to a French draft resolution stating that the activities would end in 16 months.
