Israel Railways: Freight car derailed in Haifa port area overnight, no damage caused

Sivan Hilai|
Israel Railways reported an operational incident that occurred overnight in the Haifa port area, during which two of the eight wheels of a freight car derailed from the tracks, causing it to go off the rails. Railway officials said the car did not fall or overturn, and the incident was likely due to infrastructure malfunction. "No damage was caused to the infrastructure and there was no danger to human life," the company stated. "This was an operational incident on a closed freight branch, far from the railway network. Every incident or malfunction on the railway is investigated."
