Thousands are protesting at Begin Gate in Tel Aviv calling for the return of the hostages. Orna Shimoni, whose son Eyal fell in Lebanon, said: 'The government's disregard for the people's will is a decision not to return the hostages, making them complicit in their murder.' According to her, the government has decided to dispose of the hostages. 'They want you to think the people don't support the hostages so they can continue with their plans.' Shimoni called on Israeli businesses to strike: 'Release workers for a general strike and fill the streets. Let the government see that without the people, they have no one to govern.'
