President Isaac Herzog called IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi and asked to "strengthen his hand" following the attacks he has been experiencing. The President emphasized to the Chief of Staff that it is his duty to voice his professional positions. In recent days, Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's son, lashed out against Halevi in a post on X, writing that he "is leading a rebellion fitting for a banana republic, and it is absolutely criminal." National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also attacked the Chief of Staff and called on him to explicitly state that he would obey the political echelon's decisions.
