The Shin Bet issued an official statement addressing the suspected Qatari interference in the elections. The statement read: "The Shin Bet has not yet completed the investigation and any statement regarding the content or nature of the suspicions does not reflect its position. Aside from Judge Noam Sohlberg, no external entity was exposed to the information in question until the elections concluded. It should be emphasized that an investigation of this type is focused and limited and does not cast aspersions or accuse an entire sector that went out to vote in a democratic and legal manner. Only those who acted contrary to the law will be dealt with. With Sohlberg's approval and at his request, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Yashar Party Chairman Gadi Eisenkot and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid were briefed in the past 24 hours by Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar."
