The G7 leaders (organization of industrialized nations), including US President Donald Trump, issued a joint statement after their summit in Canada, confirming Israel's right to defend itself and called for "protecting civilians" - amid the war between Israel and Iran. In the same statement, the leaders confirmed that "Iran is the main source of instability and terrorism in the region," adding: "We have always clearly stated that Iran will never be able to possess nuclear weapons. We call for the resolution of the crisis in Iran to lead to a reduction of tension and hostility in the Middle East, and lead to a ceasefire in Gaza."
