Pressure is mounting on French President Emmanuel Macron to resolve the political paralysis following the resignation of Sebastian Lecornu - his fifth prime minister in two years. Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure said the next prime minister should come from the French left. Even within Macron's camp, calls for action are growing. Aurore Bergé, his former spokesperson, is convinced he will remain in office "until the last minute of his term" in 2027, but Edouard Philippe - who served as Macron's prime minister from 2017 to 2020, believes Macron should call presidential elections once the budget is approved. The newspaper "Le Parisien" described Philippe's comments as a "political bomb."
