A technical malfunction has led to the Iron Dome missile defense system's below-average performance during a mid-week rocket barrage from the Gaza Strip which led to several injuries and property damage, according to preliminary findings of the Israeli Air Force's probe into the incident.
The report noted that the problem was immediately fixed and did not reoccur in subsequent rocket salvos later that night. The air defense system's success rate on the week stood at 90.5%.
