Canadian Israeli peace activist, assumed kidnapped in Gaza, confirmed killed in Hamas attacks

Vivian Silver, a Canadian Israeli peace activist who was believed to have been taken hostage to Gaza from her home in southern Israel in Hamas's surprise assault on Oct. 7, was killed in the initial attacks, her family confirmed early Tuesday.
The Winnipeg-born Silver founded peace movements Women Wage Peace and Ajeec Nisped, and was a board member of B'Tselem.
