Some 150 current and former Israeli Navy officers on Thursday issued a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and top military brass, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a policy overhaul to secure the return of 59 hostages still held by Hamas.
“We feel compelled to raise our voices at this fateful hour — 59 hostages remain in Hamas’ tunnels and the state is moving further away from its commitment to bring them home," the letter read.
